As the production mode in China’s apparel industry is turning from manual workshop into industrial mass production, while the processing methods are turning from custom made into standard production, the production management system needs some improvement to adapt to these requirements. Entering the21st century, the underwear market is growing rapidly and the consumer-grade presents a diversified level, the production type has been developed from large quantity, less variety and long period to small quantity, more variety and short-period. Therefore, the processing management in underwear production industry faces many new requirements, for example, the production planning is more frequent and complex, and the delivery date is required strictly by customer. So companies need better arrangement in production planning, material supply and human resource. Changing the traditional extensive management mode and improving quality with lower cost have become the necessary way for the development of underwear manufacture industry. Among bra companies, scheduling is not only the core issue in production activities, but also the key to improve production efficiency to complete orders on time.This paper studies on scheduling of bra production, on the background of R company, which is a typical order-based OEM underwear company. After having a deep research and interviewing with some staffs in R company, a better understanding of bra order production and detailed analysis of the current situation of scheduling are obtained, and the bulk coefficient of the inexact scheduling data is determined. According to the characteristics of order-based company, production system and the actual scheduling in R company, the affect factors is analyzed by using the fishbone diagram, and the improving strategy is put forward. Then the method of fitting pipeline learning curve is introduced for calculating the standard working hours, and an optimal model for actual production scheduling is built up. In this way, standard working hours in a dynamical way are modified, and scheduling model in the workshop can be designed and solved. That is to say, coefficient of lot size will be confirmed to modify the standard working hours in a dynamical way by adopting the method of fitting pipeline learning curve, then the problem of imprecise data is solved. As to the actual scheduling in enterprises, the corresponding optimal model is solved by genetic algorithm.In addition, in order to realize the modification of the standard working hours in a dynamical way and calculation of the production cycle, this thesis designs corresponding computer program, quick calculation of the production cycle will be shown in the interface consequently, which is friendly for scheduling workers. And the genetic algorithm is realized using Matlab7.0.Finally, simulating software Flexsim is applied to verify optimal results by dynamic simulation. The compared results between scheduling method in industry in this paper and the practical scheduling method in industry prove that the model we put forward can reduce order processing time effectively, and improve the efficiency of the overall production.In conclusion, aiming at solving the scheduling problems in industry according to its real situation, an optimal model is built up and is analyzed by genetic algorithm in this paper. At last, this model proved to have a good optimal effect through simulation. Although the research object is company R, this paper can provide some references meaning for other workshops in the whole underwear industry.
