As the decreasing of oil resources, the deep-sea oil exploiting has become global hotspot.In order to enhance the assembly ability of large-scale equipments, Our country have realizedthe importance of the design and manufacture technology of marine engineering equipment.More and more shipbuilding enterprises highly concerned about the design and buildingtechnology in offshore engineering. At present, large and complex assembly process still relyon the experienced designers to make, and assembly workers need to spend much time onreading lots of shipbuilding drawings and process documents, which results errors and qualityproblems happen frequently in actual work. The application of virtual assembly technologycan significantly shorten shipbuilding cycle, discover the unreasonable building process inadvance, reduce the rate of rework and shipbuilding costs, therefore, ensure the quality of theproduct.This paper mainly researches the assembly process of large-scale equipment in drillingsystem of drilling ship. The assembly simulation is made by using the virtual simulationsoftware to verify assembly process.Firstly, the standard assembly process and simulation technology are researched, andanalyzes the assembly features of large-scale drilling equipment, emphatically on liftingtechnology and installation procedures. And then analyzes assembly process of drilling rigdeeply.Secondly, considering resource transformation,the change of assembly direction andassembly motion in the process of equipment installation, assembly sequence of large-scaleequipment in drilling system is programmed based on genetic algorithm,. In the cases ofvarious constraints, the objective function is set up with the least difficulty and most feasibleassembly, relatively excellent assembly sequence is obtained through writing programs.Finally, through analyzing the assembly process and the optimization assembly sequence,select large-scale equipment in drilling system of drilling ship as the simulation objective,establish large-scale drilling equipment models and resource equipment models, which areneeded in simulation process, including relevant lifting equipments, such as gantry cranes, rotation quay cranes, flatbed trucks, drilling ship hull and docks. And then, according to therealistic assembly environment, establish the simulation scene by using Dassault’s DELMIAsoftware. Through previous assembly sequence programming, make three-dimensionalequipment installation simulation to verify the assembly process, and thus, output technologydocuments such as three-dimensional simulation documents, interference reports afteranalyzing and verifying the assembly simulation results.This paper applies the virtual simulation technology to analyze the assembly process oflarge drilling equipment of drilling ships, through building the actual assembly simulation insimulation software, analyzes and verifies the feasibility of assembly process. At last, guidethe production by generating the three-dimensional assembly simulation documents. Theresearch in this paper will make some contributions to promote our country’s digitalshipbuilding technology in offshore engineering.
