Study On The Balance Between Elasticity With Dirt Pick-up Of Elastemaric Emulsion

Exterior coating has become the main decorated material by replacing ceramic tile which has many outstanding properties, such as colorful, environment friendly, easy to application, outstanding crackings-resistance, salfty ect. It is researched that contamination is the most serious defect in short period on exterior wall. Poor dirt pick-up resistance is a common problem existing in the application of exterior wall coatings, which is also an important technical difficulty constraining the promotion and application of exterior wall coatings all over the world.The elastemaric emulsion has very poor dirt pick-up for very low Tg polymer used, which Tg is lower than environment tempreture. This article researches the contamination mechanism and influence factors of exterior elastemaric emulsion. It studies on the balance between elasticity with dirt pick-up of elastemaric emulsion controlling PVC, evaluating emulsion and solvent, adding nano-material, adding some suitable low surface energy additives, adding opaque polymer and application method ect.. It is tested that increasing the It is tested that increasing the PVC enhance stain resistance and film strength and lower enlongation when PVC is less than CPVC, but the porosity would rapid rise which cause the poor stain resistance and poor enlongation when PVC exceed CPVC. In addition, many factors, such as emulsion, solvent nano-material, some suitable low surface energy additives and opaque polymer, have obvious influence on elasticity and dirt pick-up. Furthermore, Dry film of this paint should be enough thicker, normaly150-450um to hiding crackings and the surface should be smooth.
