Jinchangyu gold deposits is located in Qianxi district, Tangshan city, Hebei province, it is among China’s large scale gold deposits. Upon field investigation, we made comprehensive and synthesis analyses of the basic characteristics, deposit types, favorable position of mining area of the deposits using tectonic geology, tectonics, mineralogy, petrology, mineral deposit geology, geochemistry and other theoretical method.Based on previous studies, and starting from regional geology, the area’s tectonic structure, basic characteristics of metamorphic petrology, gold deposits source layer, structure of the basic features of mining, ore types and the composition, type of ore mineralization , wall rock alteration type, the output and shape characteristics of veins and ore-controlling tectonic characteristics are analyzed comprehensively, the ore-controlling significance of schistosity band squeeze is cleared, preliminary understanding of deposits originality is given, and mineralization mode is established elementarily.Through the above study, following understanding is established:1) Substrate of the deposits is Archean metamorphic stratigraphy, and it is composed of Qianxi rock group and rock group Zunhua, sedimentary cover is mainly composed of Changcheng group, Jixian group and group Qingbaikou of the mid-late proterozoic. 2) The deposits are penetrated by NNE compression schistosity zone. The source layer is archean mafic gneissof, Yanshan hydrothermal activity and Qingshankou mass invasion made aurum enrich further. 3) Output of Jinchangyu gold vein are controlled by the tectonic, rock type, and rock alteration, these signs have become the prospecting direction. 4) Future favorable zone of mineralization is mainly in deep layer of extrusion shear schistosity, anticline end turn, as well as below of iron ore body in the west. 5) Jinchangyu gold deposits are post-magmatic mesothermal quartz vein-type deposit. 6) Jinchangyu gold deposits are multi-period mineralization, source of ore are mainly plagioclase amphibolite and Qingshankou granite.
