China is a country with a lot of mountainous area, and the country with frequent geological disasters. Every year because of the occurrence of landslides, collapses and debris flows disasters, the regional geological environment has a great impact, and it impact the people’s property security and economic sustainable development, Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen the research work on the prevention and control of landslide disaster.The Xunyang county Tongmu town landslide is an old landslide, since the 80 s of the last century, gradually the trend of resurrection, when continuous rain, heavy rain occurs,landslides will be deformed and damaged in varying degrees, cause a threat to the Tongmu high school, leading edge Tongmu village street residents of housing, enterprises and institutions, roads and other public facilities.We use the combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, to study the landslide’s stability and how we control it. At first, this paper discusses the landslide of the geological environment background, then analyzed the basic characteristics of landslide, rock and soil’s physical and mechanical characteristics, and on the basis of the analyzed, finally put forward two kinds of control scheme and the optimized. The main results are as follows:(1) the Natural geographical conditions of landslide area,the size, origin and shape of the landslide, landslide area terrain landform, strata lithology, the basic characteristics of the landslide, cause analysis, trend analysis, deformation history and potential hazards;(2)Use the limit equilibrium method of this landslide stability analysis: calculation profile 1-1 in the natural state stability coefficient is 1.33, natural state plus under the condition of rainstorm is 1.25, both in stable state; calculation profile 2-2 in the natural state of stability coefficient is 1.39, natural state plus under the condition of rainstorm is 1.23, also both in stable state. But there are some sub sliding surfaces are less stable to unstable state, so we have to do governant to the landslide;(3)Based on the analysis of the development trend of the landslide, two sets of treatment plans are put forward, respectively as: one, retaining wall + intercepting ditch + drainage ditch+ anti slide pile + lattice slope protection scheme; two, retaining wall + intercepting ditch +drainage ditch + Cutting slope protection scheme. After comparison and selection, the first choice is selected to government the landslide.
