Microseismic monitoring is a new seismic exploration technology in recent decades,which has been widely used for monitoring the production performance in oilfield. Its essence is to collect and explain the micro seismic events, then we can monitor the production activities. As an effective monitoring technique for locating the microfractures of the rock, it is widely used in many areas. Forward modeling of microseismic is the foundation of microseismic monitoring technology, and it is also a necessary condition for inversion.Therefore, the microseismic forward modeling has a great significance for hydrocarbon reservoir exploration.There are two methods for microseismic forward. One is wave equation method and the other is ray tracing method. The wave equation method is solving the seismic wave equation,so the simulated seismic wave contains all the information. Although the calculation is more accurate, the wave field is not intuitive. The ray tracing method is a relatively fast method, it is also the basis of velocity inversion. Ray tracing method determine the ray path in the actual formation by given the location of emission point and the receiving point. This paper is mainly talk about the first method. Based on the principle of ray tracing, we study ray tracing method for tracing multiple seismic arrivals, and implemented in two-dimensional layered media. On the basis of the ray path tracing, Some factors which mainly affect seismic amplitude, such as absorption and attenuation, transmission loss and so on.The purpose of this paper is to introduce a ray tracing method(LTI) for tracing multiple seismic arrivals including reflections wave in a 2-D layer media. It introduce the principle of the LTI algorithm and multistage method,and used in 2-D layered model. The paper also introduced the calculating formula for calculating the phase velocity and the group velocity in the two dimensional anisotropic medium, and tracing seismic arrivals including reflections etc.in two dimensional anisotropic medium.
