In recent years, the research and utilization of the polarization scattering characteristics of the light is getting more and more attention. The information provided by the polarization can be effectively used to distinguish different materials and different surface forms. Compared with traditional optical imaging, scattered polarized light imaging has the advantages of improving the contrast of the target and differentiating the material,which has great potential in the field of target imaging, recognition and clutter suppression.Therefore, in order to measure the polarization of the target material, We have designed and developed a set of scattered light polarization characteristics test system. The system is composed of four parts, includes a light source bracket, a measuring table, the test equipment and kinds of light source, which is mainly used to measure the polarization and scattering data of different wavelength laser, different incident angle, different polarization state and different receiving angle, and then analyze their differences.Firstly, this paper widely researches the background, significance and application fields and the foreign and domestic development of testing and analyzing the light polarization characteristics. On this basis, discusses the working principle of the scattered light polarization characteristics test system and introduces the realization method of each component in detail. In order to meet the requirement of automatic measurement, this paper designs and develops a set of measuring system control software based on LabVIEW. The software function includes: turntable control, optical fiber spectrometer and power meter control and data collection and data storage based on SQL Server database. In order to obtain the required data from a large amount of data, this paper studies the data query and export method based on SQL Server database. And in order to analyze the polarization characteristics of the target, the data processing software based on Matlab is developed in this paper, which is used to calculate the polarization parameters of the polarization images in different locations. Finally the hardware and software of the system are summarized, and the shortcomings of the work in this paper and the future prospects are also presented.
