Purpose: Suntuan Goldfield is located at the fourth fault metallogenic belt in Shandong Peninsula,namely Xinlin-Douya fault zone, where Taiqian Goldfield, Douya Goldfield, Hushan Goldfield, etc.have been found. But in Suntuan Goldfield, Industrial ore deposit is not found. The metallogenic condition is superior here, and this paper attempts through the study on mineralization rules to optimize the most favorable target areas, so as to do some useful work for a breakthrough in prospecting.Methods: Based on collected geological and mineral data of Suntuan goldfield, analysis and test of main rock(ore), electron probe analysis, soil secondary halo study were used to summarize geological characteristics of gold mineralization, such as Suntuan regional geological background, geological structure characteristics, main ore mineral characteristics, soil element anomaly, and to confirm the target area and discuss the prospecting direction in this area.Results and Conclusions:Following conclusions are made in the study:(1)F4 fault is most closely connected with gold mineralization. The lithology associated with gold mineralization in this area contains amphibolite, hornblende granulite mingled with biotite granulite and granules as well as amphibolite trondhjemite; the gold mineralization’s main alteration types include pyritization, beresitization, silicification. The area where polymetallic sulfide distributes most in pyritization is rich of gold.(2)The electron probe analysis on Suntuan goldfield and main ore minerals indicates that the gold is in the form of independent gold ore phase, and the occurrence state of gold is inclusion gold and crack gold. According to inter-embedded gold, sulfide and quartz, the study confirms that the area contains two metallogenic phases :namely gold-quartz-polymetallic sulfide phase and gold-quartz-pyrite phase.(3)The study summarizes the work method of soil geochemistry, and by calculating soil geochemical parameters concludes concentration coefficient and coefficient of variation and skewness that Au in Zhenjiazhuang, Suntuan has high metallogenic probability.(4)By the multivariate analysis on the six elements Au, Ag, Pb, Cu, Zn and As and use of the traditional method and 85% cumulative frequency method and Boxplot elimination method confirms anomaly thresholds of different elements,Finally worked out with 1, 2, 4 times of the threshold to confirm the anomaly target zone.(5)Comprehensive Analysis features of geological and geochemical characteristics,one A1 class anomaly and one B3 class anomaly is confirmed in study area,giving some references for further work.
