Abstract/Summary:
Visualization of biomolecular structure be applied to biological agents, precision medical, pharmacology, analyzing and improving drugs and identifying targeting locations by simulating molecular characteristics, and so on. Visualization of biomolecular structure can make limitations in cognitive ability up of human in microcosm, and improve visibility of the laboratory experiments. But with the development of medical science, bio-pharmaceuticals and demand growth, molecular data sets will be composed with millions to hundreds of millions atoms, so molecular dynamics interactive visualization becomes difficult and be a hot topic.This paper focuses on improving effect of molecular visualization by take advantage of the residue which is basic structure of protein molecules. Improving solutions for real-time rendering of large molecules in modern commercial computers by using residue-based level-of-detail, and enhancing the effect of molecular visualization by changing the sampling method. Specific studies are as follows:To begin with, we will describe the structure of protein molecules, then introduce the residue. The purpose of considering the residue structure is to speed up the assembly process of molecular visualization scene and achieving the management in three layers of molecular visualization- atomic layer, residue layer, and molecular layer.Secondly, it is very difficulty for large molecules to achieve real-time interactive visualization, so an improved level-of-detail is proposed. Using a hierarchical clustering algorithm for data preprocessing, and geting different resolutions dataset. Then achieving view-dependent selection method in diffrente levels for fast real-time visualization.And then, improved the traditional ambient occlusion method by take into account the residue structure and come with changing the ambient sampling method. The method will be more suitable for molecular visualization and get better effect.Finally, the visualization program framework is designed and implemented, and the proposed methods are verified with experiments and analyses to prove the effectiveness.
