In recent decades, Semiconductor quantum dots is more and more widely attention.Comparing to traditional organic dyes, QDs have wider excitation spectrum, narrower emission spectrum, larger stokesshift and more excellent light stability, etc.As a result.QDs as a kind of promising nanomaterials shows important application prospect and academic value in photoelectric and biology.This article is divided into four parts:The first part is about the synthesis of CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots;The second part is about the synthesis of CdS:Mn/ZnS@SiO2 quantum dots;The third part is about the research of light stability of silica shell CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots;The fourth part is about the application of CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots in white-light LED.First of all, Through one-pot process to prepared high quality CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots with different shell thickness (1-4 ZnS layers),The relation between the microstructure and the optical properties is discussed,The TEM images confirm that our CdS:Mn/ZnS QDs are monodispersed and have steady optical properties.The optical measurements show that the shell becomes thicker, the first exciton absorption peak and PL peaks are slight red-shifts,.In addition,we through"reverse microemulsion method"prepared the CdS:Mn/ZnS@SiO2 quantum dots, compared to the Stober method, reverse microemulsion method process is more simple, the obtained silica nanocrystals have more smooth surface and good monodispersity, In addition, quantum dots with nonpolar ligands can be coated directly.We conduct the research of light stability of silica shell CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots,explore the oxygen and the silica shell influence of the stability of quantum dot, then gave the analysis of the result of the measurement.Finally, try to apply the CdS:Mn/ZnS quantum dots on white-light LED devices and examine its properties.
