The liquid lens has a broad application prospect in zoom and image systems as the visual lens for its quick corresponding speed, small volume and low consumption.At first, the paper introduces the development of liquid lens at home and abroad. Then, the shape model of the liquid lens is established according to the Laplace equation, and the numerical solution is obtained by using four-order Runge-Kutta method. At last the zoom range of the liquid lens in different voltage is obtained according to the electro wetting effect. However, because of the saturation effect of the wetting and the little difference between refractive index of the conducting liquid and the non-conducting liquid, the focal length range of the liquid lens is less than the calculation range. The main research content of this paper is to design and optimize the parameters of the solid lens in the liquid-solid lens, and obtain a larger zoom range.In order to improve the focal length of the liquid lens, the characteristics of the composite lens are studied, and the influences of different solid lens thickness and radius on the focal length range of a composite lens are investigated. The focal length variation range of the combined lens with different solid angle is optimized by optimizing the combination of lens parameters, and compared with that of the liquid lens. Finally, the experimental platform is set up to measure the transmission rate of the composite lens and the focal length variation range, and the theoretical calculation value is compared with the experimental value.
