The study on the fault characteristics(geometric,activity features and fault sealing) and its controlling towards oil accumulation forming of neogene in Liubei Area of Raoyang depression has been done using well testing, well logging, seismic, and oil logging data combined with the method of tectonics,petroleum geology,sedimentology.The faults of study area are very developed, hejian and liulu fault are main controlling faults, others like II,III and IV level faults are secondary faults. In lateral, the main type of single fault is arc and straight, and the vertical characteristics presenting plate and shovel shaped structure. The faults plane combination form include skew,enechelon and grid shape,vertical combination form includecascade, graben and horst shapeThe characteristics of the faults activity of study area have been analyzed by growth index in the isochronous stratigraphic framework. the activity of hejian fault in minghuazhen period is stronger than guantao period,but the activity characteristics of liulu fault is opposite, faults with different activities at different locations, the activity in middle area of henjian fault is most strongest, the activity of north part of liulu fault is stronger than south.On the whole, activities of secondary faults are less than the the hejian and liulu fault,the various activity rules can be founded vertically and horizontally.Through the study of SGR, lithology configuration,fault zone clay content and fault plane pressure The vertical and lateral sealing characteristics of faults of study area have been resreached quantitativly,and combining with the oil test data to sealing evaluate for Neogene faults.The sealing present various characteristics in different part and period. In lateral, Ng3 and Ng1 sub-formation sealing are worst and the Ng2 is the best. In vertical,the sealing of faults of work area in neogene are relatively poor,most are open.By studying the relationship between neogene fault characteristics and oil distribution,some rules have been founded, The oil distribute along the source fault,mainly gathered in the convex area of fault and sand thicker regions. well configuration of fault and sandbody are favorable oil and gas accumulation zone. Only when the neogene faulting strength greater than 1.06,the oil can be migrated vertically and filling to related formation.control. The phenomenon that oil generally gather in the formation the activity strength greater than 1.06 and the area sealing level medium-good has been confirmed.According to the relationship between reservoir and fault has been found, finally, four favorable block have been predicted,including ning2 block,lu101 block,lu13 block and east area of lu15.Based on oil accumulation conditions,forming mechanism and process,two pool-forming modles are established:meshwork-carpet type model. buried reservoir model.
