Thunder and lightning electromagnetic pulse produced by the affected area is very broad, for the realization of the lightning protection, lightning deal with complex environment the propagation law of radiation field for research. In this paper, we study the earth’s surface, the mountain and buildings affect the spread of the radiation field of the thunder and lightning, and lightning protection scheme is put forward with the combination of three kinds of lightning arrester model, and applies it to the actual engineering cases.First, single layer beneath the soil is deduced CLP dipole radiation electromagnetic field calculation formula. Analysis of soil resistivity influence on frequency domain propagation characteristics, and analysis of lightning current and lightning strike point distance effect on the propagation characteristics. Analysis of lightning arrester under three kinds of model, based on the current, voltage and of lightning arrester under electric field, magnetic field is analyzed. According to three kinds of lightning arrester model best lightning protection scheme is put forward, combined with the actual project validates the effectiveness of the scheme.
