Drought is one of the major natural disasters. Drought is also the main disaster of Inner Mongolia region, and especially severely affects the production and life of people in this region.With the development of the satellite remote sensing technology, its features of low cost, strong timeliness and wide monitoring range are applied in various fields and also become the tendency and hot spot of drought monitoring. Currently, every monitoring method are generally operated aiming at small areas, with certain regional applicability.Based on cloud parameter background field, this paper establishes MODIS drought monitoring model for Inner Mongolia region, and verifies and applied analyzes the model. It benefits to disaster prevention and reduction, social sustainable development. Main research contents and conclusion are as following:For Inner Mongolia region, this paper uses the data of many years to establish parameters cloud-background field and analyzes the monitoring results before and after the establishment of ambient field.The results show that cloud parameters background field can modify the monitoring the results and improve themonitoring accuracy.This paper verifies and analyzes MODIS drought monitoring model in Inner Mongolia region. The results show that when using soil humiditydata verification model in meteorological station,80% leveling error between the monitoring result and measured data is control within one level, the correlating coefficient is between 0.3’and 0.6, and most of the months passed 95% bilateral significance test.Based on the MODIS’ drought monitoring model verification of Inner Mongolia region, application model analyzes the temporal and spatial variation features and its influencing factors in Inner Mongolia. The results show that the drought in Inner Mongolia region is high in the west and low in the east and pasturing areas is higher than rural areas. Considering the relating temperate, rainfall of drought, this paper respectively relatively analyzes the monitoring results, soil relative humidity and rainfall factors. The two show that the influence of temperate to drought is larger than that to rainfall.This paper establishes the MODIS drought monitoring model based on cloud parameter background field, monitors and analyzes the drought situation, and provides some scientific guidance for the sustainable development and the construction of eco-environment of husbandry in Inner Mongolia region.
