Along with the deepening of land and resources and the marine geology exploration, marine geological survey makes greater demands on low detection limits, fast speed and low cost of the offshore sediments analysis method. In order to make XRF work better in extensive national land and resources survey,we tried to use pressed pellet sample preparation to do 34 analysis projects in offshore sediments by a new generation of Axios, focused on the measurement conditions and modes of Cl,S,F,Br; Fusion sample preparation is used in determination of main components and some trace components in offshore sediment. The overall experimental research work includ the selection of peak position、 background and PHA,sample preparation, the return of the standard working curve, the correcting of the matrix effect and spectral overlap interference, method detection limit, presion and accuracy test. The established method makes better use of the advantages of modern large-scale instruments and equipment, which is simple sample preparation, fast analysis, good reproducibility, wide measuring range, simultaneous multielement analysis. The new method can overcome the disadvantages of the traditional analysis method and basically meet the requirement of offshore geology survey and scientific research. This method can provide reference basis for making the corresponding marine geological survey rules in usable ranges.
