Seismic exploration is the only way to obtain first-hand information and geological information of city construction engineering, artificial seismic source is the signal of the exploration. The shallow exploration refers to the exploration from the surface to500 m depth range of the formation, which is affecting the regional stratigraphic city construction project. Through the method of artificial earthquake seismic exploration,artificial seismic source impact on the ground, through analysis seismic wave in the strata spread to understand the engineering geological conditions. Seismic exploration for oil and gas exploration and mineral resources, engineering conditions and construction(construction of subway, highway bridges and high-rise buildings)provide an important basis for the field. Today, city construction has a profound influence on national economy and people’s livelihood, for track traffic, the subway has become the preferred solution to the congestion of the city, the high-speed inter city traffic has become easy. Geological factors on Security of urban construction has an important and far-reaching influence. Rail routes, building site construction scheme determination and implementation depends on the real-time and accurate geological information, thereby, to circumvent the underground latent fault, empty and abnormal objects to ensure urban construction in an orderly way.To explore the suitable artificial source of engineering seismic exploration is a popular topic in the field. Using artificial seismic exploration, seismic wave excitation,the seismic signal acquisition detector formation, computer analysis of seismic data received, to understand the formation structure distribution. Nowadays, dynamite,vibroseis and sledge hammer are widely used in seismic exploration. The blast ability of dynamite, the formation of good waveform effect; however, in a densely populated area, it is unsafe and pollute the environment. The frequency of vibrator can be controlled, but its structure is complex and price is high. Sledge hammer is easy to carry and the price is low, but the impact energy is weak, the depth is not up to theshallow exploration, and the labor intensity of operators is intensive.Therefore, this paper designed a kind of portable mechanical shock source device suitable for seismic exploration, including five systems: driving system, transmission system, impacting system, clutch system and auxiliary system. To achieve the three design requirements:(1) With enough force to ensure the credibility of the receiver signal;(2) Using the simple and reliable system design for convenient and effective operation;(3) Through impact system to implementation device safety and no pollution. And in accordance with the two validation criteria:(1) The impact on enough transfer process of system components applied load, through the analysis of the software, in accordance with the selection of materials the license key parts.(2)On-site validation of focal depth to meet the requirements of shallow engineering exploration.
