Study On Quaternary Strata In Hexi Corridor Of The Eastern Yumu Mountain

Taking the Quaternary Strata Quaternary startigraphic section in Hexi corridor of the eastern Yumu mountain as research object. Though its measure and descibe in detail, comparing each era lithologic facies characteristics, to grab its spatical distribution. Using the method of stratigraphy, geomorphology, geochronology, Relying on OSL and ESR dating technology, Qyaternary startigrapy of the area has been divided and comparison system, and the establishment of a complete Quaternary starti graphic sequence for the new study area tectonic movement, which improving the local base Geology plays an important role.By finishing Quaternary strati graphic section,and a summary analysis of the previous research,the eastern of Yu mu mountain Quaternary strati graphic sequence is early Pleistocene Yumen group, is a pale yellow sandstone conglomerate, rock slant. Pleistocene lower by a sallow fine gravel, coarse gravel, fine gravel layer of pale yellow sand, coarse gravel layer Jiuquan group; an upper layer of coarse gravel. Late Pleistocene: Brown gravel, gray alluvial gravel layer, a layer of coarse sand brown, gray gravel, red-brown alluvial gravel layer. Holocene: gravel layer thickness interphase thickness distribution..Geomorphology reaction and distribution: Early Pleistocene performance of gentle hills. Middle Pleistocene series performance as the river terrance of V and VI and the base of river terrances II-IV; Later Pleistocene series performance forⅡⅣTerrace; Holocene Series constitute the river I terrance and floodplain; SuYou mount, Heihe II level Terrace to the river bed are all for the Holocene, validation SuYou mount north as well as the Heihe area, Holocene tectonic movement is more intense. The strata in the study area south of old north, Minle basin of late Pleistocene Holocene was widely distributed, narrow strip; Zhangye Basin’s Holocene Series is the most extensive distribution and it’s Later Pleistocene Series is in block. Yumen’s Lower Pleistocene Series is only distribute in the Western Wudang area and JiuQuan’s Middle Pleistocene Series along the Piedmont is in block.In sedimentary formation: Early Pleistocene are mainly alluvial strata- outwash facies, is Yumen group. In the Pleistocene alluvial mainly containing alluvial characteristics, development Jiuquan group; the presence of the same period of phase alluvial layer. Pleistocene alluvial facies, the presence of the same period of phase Eeolian loess and alluvial layers. Holocene alluvial facies, earlier-phase layer of loess and Eeolian alluvial fan layer.
