In order to improve the definition of snow leopard (Panthera uncia) behaviors and more systematically code their behaviors, two captive adult snow leopards were observed for one year to determine their behavioural characteristics. We not only focused on their ethogram coding, but also calculating their activity pattern time length. The methods we used were the focal sampling and scan sampling so that we could record all the 20 hours behavior details of the sexes. After statistical data analysis, systematically coding the behaviors and also doing the time budget calculation, we acquired 1. the PAE coding system for the captive snow leopard in low-altitude,2. the time budget of the male and female individual. In addition, by summarizing the behaviors in estrus, we find some linkage behaviors, and the symbolic behaviors to start the estrus and copulation. For our behavior survey, using PAE system coding snow leopard behaviors is the first time within global range, and also we firstly did some analysis to snow leopard’s sound files, come out the sound spectrum as well, in the mean time, we did some more improvements to the behavior details within the special seasons such as mating season and giving birth season.
