Sedimentary simulation technology is an important technology of studying stratigraphy and sedimentology based on physical or computational experimental experimental method. Sedimentary simulation is trying to make a reproduction of the real process of nature. Deposition modeling is established by the depositional experiment, of the processes and responsive results. Many theoretical and practical problems can be solved with sedimentary simulations, such as the formation conditions and distribution of lake basin slope depositional system, Delta, fan delta and subaqueous fan. Sedimentation simulation can also validate the depositional models, aiming at the existing problems of design model, through simulating the sedimentary processes on the influencing and controlling factors of the sand body distribution characteristics, help establish corresponding sedimentary patterns, and provide a more practical ideas and guideline for oilfield exploration and development. Deposition simulation can be divided into physical simulation and numerical simulation. The numerical simulation is to use the computer to simulate the physical process of the Deposition. First our understanding on the deposition process was abstracted and formulated into the mathematical and physical laws and empirical formula, and then by computer program with these laws can be realized, by using the computer graphics techniques in an intuitive way to reproduce the geological process. The studied oilfield is located in the eastern part of the Santos basin, Brazil, offshore about 250 km, with water depth of about 2300 m. The oil field was discovered in 2008 after exploration began in 2001. 3 wells were drilled in the area and drilled in thick oil and gas zones. In the study area, the reservoir has the characteristics of rapid change of lateral distribution and strong heterogeneity, and the quality of the seismic reflection imaging quality is influenced by salt rock, which greatly increases thedifficulty of exploration. By using Dionisos simulation software, we have established the forward modeling of the 117-113 Ma deposition process of carbonate platform in study area. According to the simulation, the deposition environment, the environmental parameters and the distribution of sedimentary facies were quantitatively analyzed. Relying on the seismic data, well logging data, and thin section analysis data. We obtained the environmental parameters such as the initial water depth map, spatial accommodation variation, carbonate production, wave energy and wave direction. Using several methods to adjust the parameters of the simulations with limited data, the more reasonable simulation results, including sedimentary facies distribution models are established, and also summed up a set of feasible analysis methods for carbonate stratigraphic forward modeling.
