This paper takes the Gabon basin in West Africa as the research object, based on the previous exploration results and the existing geological data,we use Basin modeling technology to analyze the tectonic evolution history, geohistory and thermalhistory of the three aspects of the research work. According to the simulation results are compared and analyzed, to provide scientific and reasonable basis for oil and gas exploration in the Gabon basin in the next step. The following is a brief introduction of the main work, achievements and understanding of the paper:1.Through the investigation and research, analysis and comparison of a large number of previous studies in the West Africa Gabon basin, collection of the study area and the adjacent area of the ancient water depth relationship, lithology physical parameter and the important data of the characteristics of the geothermal field. To establish the most important foundation for the study of burial and thermal history of the basin. Modeling the Gabon basin tectonic evolution history and burial history. According to the interpretation of balanced cross section and modeling results, comprehensive analysis and research the Gabon basin tectonic evolution history and burial history. In the study of burial history, it is found that the formation rate of the basin is higher than that of the depression. The deposition rate of the deep water area is greater than that of the eastern land area. The deposition rate decreased in the transition period of salt rock, Enter the stable sedimentary stage from late cretaceous to neogene basin.2. According to the heat flux data statistics, the geothermal heat flux is relatively high in the basin. From the west to the east gradually increased, the value of heat flux is greater than the sea area.According to six single wells thermal evolution simulation analysis, the subsalt layer in the northern Gabon basin at the medium mature to high mature stage,Ro from 0.7%to 1.3%, in the oil and gas generating stage. The thermal evolution of the central area is higher than that of the too mature stage, Ro> 1.3%, in cracking gas phase. The eastern land area parts of the southern Gabon basin at the medium mature to high mature stage, Ro from 0.7% to 1.3%, in the oil and gas generating stage.
