With the development of the deep geological drilling, the traditional Positive Displacement Motor(PDM) drill has not been available to use in the deep hole, with the underground environment of high temperature and pressure. As a new downhole drilling tool, the turbodrill has been paid more attention to, because it is composed of all-metal components, those have the properties of high temperature resistance and high torque under high speed. Therefore, the deep research of the turbodrill is necessary. In this paper, a new computer-automated collection and monitoring and turbodrill bench test controlling system is developed, and it can be applied to a series of turbodrill performance test. In further, the research of the system will be reliable for the study of the turbodrill performance test and promote the further development of the turbodrill technology.In this paper, the characteristics of the turbodrill in structure and performance are studied firstly. Then based on the understanding of the turbodrill performance characteristics, design of the turbodrill test system preliminary, including the working principle of the test bench, the machine parts of the system and the size parameters and structure of the test bench.In the next, according to the overall design of the system machine, study the test principle of the various turbodrill performance, including simulation drilling pressure,torque, rotational speed, flow and the inward and outward pressure of the drill. Then,purchase and arrange the sensors and industrial control frequency conversion control cabinet components, such as actual production test bench work station.Secondly, the monitoring principle of performance parameters is investigated based on the complete scheme design. The parameters includes the pressure, torque,speed, flow and entrance pressure of drill. Then the components, including sensors,IPC and inverte control cabin, are sourced and located, and the test-bed is trial-manufactured. The selection for hardware of controlling and monitoring part isdown.Next, the software operation interface of controlling and monitoring part of turbodrill test-bedis designed based on LabView. The software is main realized the real-time data display and collection, remote control of mud pumps and data reading and storage.Finally, this paper finishes some modules of the monitoring and controlling of turbodrill test-bed.
