Recently, abiotic stresses constantly affect rice yields and explore different stresses signal transduction pathways have a very important significance to improve rice production and quality.RNA binding protein (RBP) is an importment protein in plants, which has been demonstrated that involved in transcriptional regulation under different abiotic stresses. This article has cloned an abiotic stress response gene from rice cDNA library by PCR, which contains a canonical RNA recognition motif (RRM) and encodes nuclear cap binding protein complex 20kDa subunit, named OsCBP20. OsCBP20 gene encodes protein of 243 amino acids with a calculated molecular mass of 28.6 KDa and a PI of 5.14. Subcellular localization found OsCBP20 positioning in the nucleus. Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis of OsCBP20 expression under different stress found that high salt、high temperature and drought induced gene expression. Fusion protein expression analysis, OsCBP20 highly expressed in E. coli. Adversity prokaryotic expression analysis showed that the recombinant cells have higher survival rate than control cells under high salt, drought, and high temperatures. T2 generation of transgenic plants at high salt, drought, high temperature treatment, the survival rate of overexpression plants significantly higher antisense inhibition expression plants and control plants. This shows that the OsCBP20 gene may involve in transduction of high salt, heat stress, and drought; and is a multi-stress regulatory gene.
