SWAT model is a distributed hydrological model, which is a combination of physical and conceptual model. This chapter studies the development of SWAT model, and the construction process of SWAT model, combined with previous research results, analysis and discussion of the applicability of SWAT model in the upper reaches of Zhanghe basin.Because the upper reaches of Zhanghe basin underlying the complexity of the two major tributaries(Qing Zhanghe, Zhanghe Zhuo) there is a big difference, in order to accurately reflect the surface runoff and the underlying relationship between the upper reaches of Zhanghe, this chapter selects Liu Jia Zhuang station station Hou Qing Zhanghe, wall turbid Zhanghe representative station, and then were constructed respectively. The SWAT model based on the upper reaches of Zhanghe basin. In order to establish the SWAT model, the spatial data and attribute data of the upper reaches of Zhanghe River Basin were collected. On the DEM map of molecular drainage basin, land use map and soil map to re encoding classification, to establish a spatial database. Using weather generator to generate weather attribute database, combined with soil and land use data to improve attribute database. The runoff simulation results of two representative stations are set up, and the SWAT model has good effect in the verification period, and the accuracy of the simulation is achieved, which proves that the SWAT model has good applicability in the Zhanghe River Basin. The hydrological effects of the upper reaches of the Zhanghe River Basin are analyzed on the basis of the SWAT model in the upper reaches of Zhanghe River Basin. The land use types of cultivated land conversion to forest and grassland to some extent reduce surface runoff.
