The Design And Application Of Protein Structure Information Platform

In recent years, with the development of computer science, biology, as other science subjects, increased with the combination of computer science. The result of the combination is a new science called computational biology or bioinformatics. Computational biology has wide range of research and the research content coverage.Most of research on computational biology oriented biology specific problems. Research on protein structure based on computations is a large coverage of research direction. It also became popular in protein study and produced a series of sub-projects.With the development of high resolution technology and NMR, biological data show exponential growth. At the same time, the databases stored protein data also increased continuously. In this article, I build a protein structure information platform to store protein structure data with Mongo DB and Python. The platform integrated various protein databases and parsed the protein data into protein structure information then put them into Mongo DB, provide users protein structure information.As an application of my protein structure information platform, I made a prediction of residue-residue contact in outer membrane protein Inter-Barrel. For the reason I use the protein structure information platform, I nearly didn’t use any time to process the data, so I accomplish the study rapidly. This study already proved the availability and the help of the protein structure information platform.In the future, protein structure information platform will play a bigger role. At the same time, our next work of protein structure information platform is expanding the number of proteins and integrating more protein databases, further, we will complete the use of protein structure information platform to service more people.
