Modeling and simulation of system is an important way to understand the objective world, and has become the main research content in modern science and technology. It is widely used in various disciplines and engineering fields. In recent years, the research objects of simulation system have involved more fields and become more and more complex and comprehensive. Though it brings convenience to scientific research, the challenges to credibility assessment attendant. Therefore, study related assessment methods and develop an assessment tool is very meaningful.This paper analyzes credibility assessment’s status quo and challenges in domestic and foreign, expounds the basic theory and cautions. At the same time, the theory of VV&A of modeling and simulation is introduced, including related concepts, methods, principles and its relationship with credibility assessment.Based on clarifying the theories, the paper combines the actual situation of the semiphysical simulation system, two methods of grey relational analysis and structural similarity index measurement are introduced in detail, and they are applied to the assessment of the simulation data and images respectively. Through the comparative analysis, it shows the rationality of the two methods. Then, to follow the principle of combining qualitative and quantitative assessment, according to the characteristics of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and FCE(Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation), a hierarchical assessment model based on them is proposed, for the integrated assessment to a overall credibility of the simulation system.Next, through analyzing the actual characteristics and requirements of semiphysical simulation system, according to the specific algorithm process of hierarchical assessment model, the assessment tool’s architecture is introduced, mainly including database structure and the division of different functional modules. After this, with the help of Microsoft Visual Studio 2013 development tools, SQL Server 2012 database system, and the stable powerful mature plugin—DevExpress, using C# language and Client/Server mode completes the development of the tool. Then a real application on the semi-physical simulation system is shown to prove the tool’s availability and ease.In the end, the research content of this paper is summarized. According to the difficulties encountered in actual work and the problems that are not solved, the paper makes an objective description to the deficiencies and the parts to be analyzed in depth, and finally prospects the further research direction.
