Hollow section joints are commonly used in modern engineering structures. They have the characteristics of beautiful appearance, beauty of art, and superior mechanical performance, so the towering structure is widely used in domestic and international structures which are offshore platforms. This circular-square tube structure is that its director pipe is circular and the branch pipe is square. The structure has the advantages, of which the appearance is more beautiful as compared with others.In the article, the K-welded joints of circular-square hollow section tubes under the same axial load circumstances are employed, and their hot spot stress concentration factor with different parameters are studied. The previous literature has introduced about finite element modeling of square tube, so the circular square tube model is established by using SOLIDWORKS. The model is calculated by the ANSYS analysis software. The results of weld toe and no weld toe of finite element calculations are obtained by computers to prove the necessity of weld toe build. Moreover, This article also studies the three main influence parameters β, 2γ, τ which are the main effects on stress concentration factor, and their scopes are determined.The several parameters of the selected full permutation and combination are set up to make each parameter combination model what is founded by finite element method. It can extract the biggest hot spot stress value of each model to summarize change rules of the various models of stress concentration phenomenon. This article has also made special research aimed at weld toe size of which the characteristics are calculated and analyzed to establish a reasonable model for the size of the weld toe. Furthermore, This article is also to investigate the influence of three main geometric parameters, β, 2γ, τ on the hot spots of stress concentration factor. Therefore, we should simplify the other factors to try to decrease the interference of other factors on the three parameters, and the required modeling can be adapted.The axial load distribution of stress concentration factor of K type nodes under the influence of parameters on formula is fit out by using data processing software, and is compared with the FEM results. Finally, the accuracy of formulas developed in this investigation has been verified, and they can be possibly used for a reference in practical engineering.
