Loess- hipparion red clay landslide develop widely on loess plateau area, their slip surfaces consist of Quaternary loess and hipparion red clay, the groundwater infiltrating effect and infiltration of much rainfall makes loess and hipparion red clay saturated, at the same time, their strength all reduce dramatically, then the creep deformation come, and form the continuous sliding surface which lead the slope to failure. Base on the related literature data and in ways of laboratory experiment, this paper study on creep characteristics of the Q1 loess and hipparion red clay. The main results are as follows:(1) Through the direct shear creep test of saturated Q1 loess and hipparion red clay, obtain creep curves and isochronous stress-strain curves, establish Burgers creep model and analyze all parameters, then put forward the unified Burgers creep equation under different stress state;(2) Compare different methods obtaining the limit value of long-term strength, put forward a new method based on the maximum curvature of η1- τ curve, analyze strength characteristics of saturated Q1 loess and hipparion red clay, advise strength parameters in the slope stability analysis;(3) Establish the creep constitutive equations meeting the long-term strength criterion, try to turn this equation into some practical significance in the forecasting of landslide.
