There is a strongly dynamic interaction between groundwater and surface water in meandering river, which contributes to providing scientific basis for riverside pumping and pollutant migration research. In this paper, we use temperature as a tracer, which can be measured easily and rapidly, and the cost is low as well, and groundwater temperature data can well reflect the recharge and discharge relationship between surface water and groundwater.In this paper, we selected WeiHe catchment in LinTong as research area, and measured different buried depth of groundwater level and temperature at different place of meandering river, and we analyzed the relationship between groundwater and surface water and the characteristics of temperature distribution. In consideration of the complicated hydrological conditions which can’t be described detailed in research area, we refer to the hydrological conditions and set up the idealized model. According to the model simulation results, we can simulate the interaction between groundwater and surface water in different location of the meandering river and analyse the characteristics of the groundwater temperature field distribution. The research content and conclusions are as follows:1) Groundwater temperature will change cyclically with the surface water temperature cyclic variation. In the area of groundwater recharge surface water, groundwater temperature periodic change along with the water temperature is small, and in the area of surface water recharge of groundwater, the change is big. But groundwater temperature changes lag behind the surface water temperature variation.2) In a horizontal distance nearer the rivers, the closer the groundwater temperature which shallow buried depth and surface water temperature is. The farther distance from rivers and groundwater temperature and the water temperature difference is bigger. In vertical direction, the greater the embedded depth of ground water is, the bigger difference between ground water temperature and surface water temperature is. While the lower the embedded depth of ground water is, the closer the ground water temperature and surface water temperature is. In the place where groundwater recharges surface water, the isotherm ribbon and the temperature gradient are great, showing that the river temperature change influenced on groundwater temperature change is limited. In the place where surface water recharges groundwater, the isotherm ribbon and the temperature gradient are small, and groundwater temperature change affected by the water temperature change is big, and influential distance is far.3) Permeability coefficient has great influence on groundwater temperature field. In different place, the variation of permeability has different effect on groundwater temperature field. In the area of groundwater recharges surface water, groundwater temperature change influenced by the variation of permeability coefficient is small. In the area of surface water recharges groundwater, groundwater temperature change influenced by the variation of permeability coefficient is great. The greater permeability coefficient is, the farther the influence distance of surface water to ground water is.4) The head change and the permeability coefficient change has the same influence on the groundwater temperature. Both of them influence groundwater temperature by changing the flow velocity.
