The main part of study area is located in Gurbantunggut Desert, Xinjiang Changji Hui People Autonomous Region. The surface is covered by sand dunes,which undulate seriously. There are more than 70 meters between the highest sand dunes and the lowest ones. As the ability of thick sand dunes absorbing seismic wave energy attenuated seriously; signal to noise ratio and resolution are flat; and also the thickness of low velocity zones change violently and high velocity zones bury deeply,which makes the static correction become sharp and is also harmful to the choice of motivating factors. The research is based on Cheng 1 well drilling East. It is mainly directed against the hidden oil and gas reservoir geological targets, the thick surface covered by desert, to carry out research work of investigation of near surface structure,static correction, motivation, acceptation and the design of observation system. The paper formed a series of seismic acquisition methods suitable to the study area through the analysis and parameter optimization of the properties of earthquake observation system in the central block 2 of Xinjiang Junggar Desert; the research of surface structure survey technology, receiving technology and motivating technology.The technology improves the quality of data acquisition in field seismic. At the same time, the technology can play an important role of reference and guidance in other deserts’ scientific research and production.
