The study of magnetic ?uid given priority to the ferromagnetic ?uid.As a kind of new material,it received extensive attention of many people.Ferromagnetic?uid is a kind of relatively stable colloidal liquid composed of nanometer magnetic particles,carrier solvent and surfactant dispersing agent(10%-20%).This paper we will study the magnetic ?uids in two sections :one is to study the elliptical characteristics of stability equations on magnetic ?uid and the other one is to study the experiment of MHD power generation,mainly including the following two sections:1.The dimensionless stability equations on magnetic ?uid is given. Through the analysis of the characteristic of stability equations on magnetic ?uid,we can see that the liner stability equations on magnetic ?uid show parabolic feature in a whole,and the nonliner stability equations on magnetic ?uid show hyperbolicparabolic feature.But the analysis of the bicharacteristic reveals,as to the velocity U,the liner stability equations show ellipse feature in subsonic area and the hyperbolic-parabolic feature in transonic area;As to the velocity U+u,the nonliner stability equations show ellipse feature in subsonic area and the parabolic feature in transonic area.Based on the theory above,we could ?nd out some ways to eliminate the ellipse characteristics.2.In our laboratory of the Computational Fluid Dynamics,We built a new system of MHD power generation.We discussed the relaitionships between the electromagnetic force and the velocity, the temperature of the text ?uid.The measured data are in good agreement with the theoretical predictions.On the other hand, we use di?erent applied magnetic ?eld to conduct the test.The experiments show that a higher electric output can be achieved by increasing the ?ow velocity of the magnetic ?uid and the applied magnetic strength.And the in?uence of the temperature on the power generation system is not remarkable.
