The relationship between plant functional traits is the space of plants to improve resource utilization efficiency of a ecological strategy, reflects the plant phenotypic plasticity mechanism of synergy to adapt to the environment. Plants in the process of long-term growth, due to the different genetic features, different plant configuration will have obvious difference, they adapt to the different external conditions will show different ecological countermeasures, especially on the external morphological characteristics, is affected by environmental factors. Is often mutual coordination between multiple functional traits, view and analysis should not be isolated, because the trade-off between plant functional traits (trade-offs) and combination determines the strategies of the plant (life historical strategy) and each species in the community of niche (niche), and then affect the stability of the coexistence of species. In this paper, using the method of experimental ecology, from the point of view of allometry analysis and research the Lanzhou beishan four different slope to the slope with three groups of plantation arborvitae plant height, crown breadth, plant height, DBH covariant relationship, as well as the cause of the covariant relations, explores the arborvitae branches and leaves the space difference of character, trying to reveal the biota orientalis plantation under different habitat conditions of adaptive countermeasures, by studying the following conclusions:(1) upward slope using the size of the plant height and crown breadth are go south slope> west slope> east slope> north slope. From the south to the north slope, slope plant height and crown showed a trend of decrease, arborvitae plant height and crown breadth between dongpo and then there was no significant difference (P> 0.05). With the increase of slope, arborvitae plant height and crown width size showed a trend of decrease. Southern slope using the crown growth rate is greater than the plant height, arborvitae north slope could be more photosynthetic product into the growth of plant height, dongpo go and plant height, crown breadth allometry slope are close to 1. In the study area 0°-10° slope of sample on the ground using plant height and crown breadth, the largest plant height increase speed is less than the crown; In 10°-20° sample area, using both the growth of plant height and crown breadth, choose moderate plant height and crown breadth; Sample in 20° to 30°, arborvitae plant height growth rate is greater than the crown.(2) using the size of the plant height and diameter at breast height are go south slope> west slope> east slope> north slope. From the south to the north slope, slope plant height from southern slope to the north slope gradually decreases, and among them, using plant height between dongpo and then there was no significant difference (P> 0.05); Using diameter at breast height between each slope to exist significant difference (P< 0.05). On the single factor analysis of variance showed that the different slope using plant height and diameter at breast height there were significant differences (p< 0.05), with the increase of slope, arborvitae plant height and diameter at breast height showed a trend of decrease. Southern slope using plant height growth rate relatively quickly, the tree height and diameter of allometric growth index is larger, dongpo and then using diameter at breast height and plant height of different speed variation was not significant, the north slope using photosynthesis production will be more devoted to the growth of diameter at breast height, so the DBH growth rate is greater than the plant height. In the study area the ground 0°-10° slope samples, arborvitae DBH increased speed is less than plant height; In 10°-20° sample area, using both the growth of plant height and diameter at breast height, choose the moderate plant height and diameter at breast height; Sample in 20° to 30°, arborvitae DBH growth rate is greater than the plant height.(3) To go along with the slope to the south slope, eastern slope and north slope of shift, arborvitae branch biomass is generally increased gradually, the change rule of leaf biomass showed a trend of decrease gradually, the branch and leaf biomass between dongpo and then there was no significant difference (p> 0.05). Different slope length of bai zhi and upper leaf area there were significant differences (p< 0.05), with gradient from low to high, arborvitae branch biomass showed a trend of decrease, the leaf biomass increased. Southern slope Oriental arborvitae biomass has more relative to the branch biomass growth rate, dongpo and then using branch and leaf biomass quantity and their relations of no significant variation, north branch biomass, the smallest allometry slope is smallest. Leaf biomass and shoot biomass of SMA slope in 0°-10 °slope is significantly less than 1 (p< 0.01),1 ° 10-20° incline and there was no significant difference,20° to 30 ° incline was significantly greater than 1 (p< 0.01), indicating that leaf biomass increased speed increasing, as the grade get steeper, Oriental arborvitae biomass and shoot biomass allometric growth of slope increases gradually, in the case of a given branch biomass, large number of arborvitae can grow on the slope more blade.
