The thermal conductivity is an basic thermophysical parameter of material, it is widely used in production, scientific activities and daily life, thus many researchers have focused on the research of thermal conductivity of materials.Transient hot wire method is recognized as the most accurate method for liquid or gas thermal conductivity measurement, but its common data processing method has some deficiencies. The unreasonable judgement of starting point and end point of the valid data may affect the result of the data fitting. In order to make the measurement result more reliable, the researchers try to use the equipments with high precision, high acquisition, but this increase the cost of the test system. As computer technology develops, the numerical simulation results are eventually close to the experimental value. Numerical simulation was introduced in data processing in this paper, The final result was obtained by comparison of the simulated temperature curve with the experimental temperature curve. The main work of the thesis is as follows. Measurement of thermal conductivity with the transient hot wire method was simulated with the simulation software FLUENT, the temperature distribution inside the apparatus was obtained. A software based on finite volume method in FORTRAN code was also used to analyze the process. Both results agreed well with the experimental results. Measurement of the thermal conductivity of the hydrogen was simulated, the effect of various factors such as diameter of hot wire, radius of the cavity, power supply was analysed. The experimental data of the toluene, dimethyl ether and nitrogen was processed with numerical simulation method. The thermal conductivity and the thermal diffusivity was continuously optimize and finally the numerical simulation result agreed well with the experimental data.
