As a new kind of automated flow measurement equipment, the wirelessradar wave current meter has been approved by hydrological service and appliedto the velocity measurement work of rivers. Using a removed non–contactreal-time technique, this equipment reduces the effect of power failure, wavesand floaters on the water. Besides it can replace ADCP to work in a complexenvironment such as flood. So the wireless radar wave current meter hasenormous advantages in the velocity measurement work of rivers. This radarwave current meter is exposed to the elements, therefor it will be influenced byclimate change. Notably, the wind load effect is most obvious. Under the windload effect, the current meter induces vertical-angle and can’t work on a fixedpoint. As a result, this phenomenon affects the precision of the measurement’sresults. How to reduce this influence remains an open research question. In allusion to the problems mentioned above, first a dynamic model ofradar wave current meter is established. According to the actual workingconditions, the model is simplified and linearized. Then based on the theory ofmodern computer simulation techniques, this paper makes use of MATLAB/Simulink software to build the computer model of radar wave currentmeter and wind models of different type. At last, a series of study withcomputerized simulation was taken. Following results are obtained:(1) A dynamics model of radar wave current meter is established, and thewind models are divided into4types based on the actual situation, they are gust, slowly varying wind, fluctuating wind and mixed wind. Driven by different typeof wind, the dynamic response of the model’s vertical-angle is simulated. Thispaper gets the result of the angle’s dynamic response driven by different windload and finds out the most serious type of wind load.(2) Based on the Simulink model of radar wave current meter, this paperanalyses the different structural parameters impact on the change of the system’svertical-angle. And the law of different structural parameters impact on thevertical-angle is been found.(3) By comparing the result of the physical experiment and the simulationcalculation, the rationality of radar wave current meter’s dynamic simulationresults is validated.
