With the development of the highway intelligent service, more specific applications of software and hardware requirements have also been developed in China. Especially, a large variety of sensors have been made based on the highway’s practical application requirements in recent years. They provide many good hardware and software conditions for the highway’s intelligent services and thus promote the rapid development of the intelligent transportation.Considering the specific requirements of the highway meteorological service platform(HMSP), based on the current study of various technologies used in the highway intelligent service system, this paper proposes a compressive sensing(CS) data acquisition scheme on the national highway to solve the huge amount of collected data problem.Taking one of the highway sections as the base research object (from Nanjing to Suzhou), a high-performance compressive sensing algorithm has been proposed for the weather collection stations along this highway section. By usingthe DCT, sensing acquisition of the original signals in the HMSP’s collection part and taking the established meteorological service cloud (MSC) to realize the data signal reconstruction based on the OMP, this paper mostly achieves the deign goal. Simulationresults have proved that this scheme could reduce the amount of collected data in the capture terminal and then a less amount of data for transmission can be achieved. Furthermore,this scheme could get a lower energy consumption of the entire network. Simulation experiments also show that the method in the actual operation can achieve the energy-efficient real-time goal on the basis of the accuracy assurance and this can provide some theoretical significance for the development of the intelligent highway.To change the state that little sensors have been found on the highway, and reduce the data amount of transmission while improving the data’s real-time precision, this paper also presents the HMSP lower energy consumption data fusion based on the CS to solve the problem of the sensors’density. Taking Tangshan Station as the experimental foundation, this papersimulates a small road surface temperature wireless sensor network. On the improved LEACH algorithm and theBayesian Estimation data fusion used in the cluster head to fuse all data coming from the member nodes, a low energy data fusion strategy has been realized. Through experiments,the amount of data transmission has been reduced more and the data’s real-time accuracy has also been improved. All these can give much help for those people who drive their cars on the highway to get the meteorological conditions in time.Finally, HMSP is built on the cloud platform that is the meteorological service cloud (MSC). Meanwhile, each part of HMSP is described in detail, and some main function interfaces have been showed in this paper. Through tests with actual data, the application development system of HMSP has reached all of the design requirements which providing a certain reference value for the future expansion of the highway intelligence services.
