Nonlinear optical materials have a great application value in the area of electro-optical device, all-optical information processing and special optical function module. The main traditional optoelectronic devices use inorganic nonlinear optical materials, organic nonlinear optical materials have the incomparable advantages of high nonlinear optical coefficient, fast nonlinear optical response time, excellent optical transparency, low dielectric constant compared with the Inorganic Nonlinear Materials.Therefore recently organic nonlinear optical materials and applications become a hot research topic in the field of optical materials.According to the D-π-A type organic molecular design concept proposed by Zyss, we designed and synthesized two kind of organic polymer. This article will use polyimide (PI) as scattered material; we had a deep research both on preparation of polymer thin films and the measurement of its linear and nonlinear optical property. Main work of this thesis is following:(1) According to Bouguer-Lambert-beer’s law, we derived the linear absorption coefficient of Nonlinear Optical organic polymer material, and derived the refractive index coefficient Based on multiple-beam interference principle. In addition based on the Gaussian decomposition (Gaussian Decomposition for short GD), we analyzed the fitting formula of third-order nonlinear optical absorption coefficients in z-scan experiment and the fitting formula of third-order nonlinear refractive index coefficients.(2) With the help of Xinzhou Teachers College, we designed and synthesized two types of Low molecular organic compounds based on the concepts of D-π-A organic molecular. They are ferrocene derivatives and Benzothiazole-carbazole derivatives. The Ferrocene derivatives are defined as compound1and compound2. The Benzothiazole-carbazole derivatives are defined as compound3and compound4. In order to let organic polymer disperse into PI uniformly, we took measures by a long time ultrasonic, then we will use direct coating method to make organic polymer/PI film with different mass fraction.(3) We measured the linear characteristics of polymer films by UV-visible spectrophotometer. We measured the nonlinear refractive index and nonlinear absorption coefficient of organic polymer/PI film under1064nm wavelength by z scanning experiment. Then we get the nonlinear third-order polarizability of compound1/PI is X(3)=1.038×10-11esu, nonlinear third-order polarizability of compound2/PI is X(3)=3.884×10-12esu, nonlinear third-order polarizability of compound3/PI is X(3)=1.788×10-12esu, nonlinear third-order polarizability of compound4/PI is X(3)=7.932×10-12esu.
