The most important factors affecting the global climate are the motions of water such as sea wave or the steam above water. It’s significantly meaningful surveilling and knowing ocean current and related environment at any time.This article begins with introducing the domestic and overseas research status and related technology of Doppler measurement. Then based on the standard of measuring bottom profile current, sea waves, and suspending sediment, it presents you of this wave observing device a highly sophisticated design, including its system configuration and software overall realization.This article attaches importance to the relative noise reduction technology of Ocean Wave Observing Instrument, which includes the designing of noise-reducing receiver hardware,multiple correlation algorithms in wide-band frequency measurement,manually conversing stratified flows and smoothing algorithm in denoising measurement data.The measurement accuracy of Ocean Wave Observing Instrument already met the design specifications through several simulations and equipment’s underwater experiments and certain reference values are proved for subsequent Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) development.
