As a tvpe of the spectacular natural landscape, karst caves has a high value for tourist development. With increasing tourist activity and introduction ot artificial lighting system, the cave environment has undergone great change, bringing about a series of ecological problems, among which is the growth and wide spread of lampenflora in caves. Such lampenflora not only infects the aesthetic value of the caves, but also corrodes their substrata. Therefore Investigation and methods of control ovre ampentlora has been earned out worldwide, but such study is rare in China. Here1comprehensively investigated the lampentlora in Shihua Cave, Beijing, recorded their tentative understandings of them. Then on this basis I conduct in situ experiment oi two control methods:15%H2O2spraying and ultra-violet lamp irradiation. And finally I came to conclusions as follows:1.24species was identified during this survey, belonging to3phyla,5orders and11genuses. There were20species of cyanobacteria,3species of green algae,1species of moss, among which cyanobacteria and green algae are dominant. A frequently found species in some of the European caves, Scytonema julianum, was also identified from this survey, which not only is one of the most typical species able to remove calcium ion from substrata, but also is quick in replacing other community. Therefore we must pay attention to it. And Chlorella was found to be the most abundant and resilient genus, so it must also be carefully controlled.2、there is no correlation between Diversity index of lampenflora and temperature, moisture or light intensity. Diversity of lampenflora not only relies on water abundance, characteristic of substrata, light intensity, but also depends on what kind of lampenflora they are under the same conditions. Various factors mixed and matched and form the distribution of lampenflora now in Shihua Cave. This may provide helpful indications for lampenflora control.3、The number of species and diversity index has greatly decreased compared with those identified during the survey in2004. This is because tribenuron-methyl was used to control lampenflora in Shihua Cave in2008, since then lampenflora area has decreased significantly. This shows that this kind of chemical is effective for ampenflora control. However, it seems this chemical has not yet been proposed by iny lampenflora reaseacher. Therefore further study about it can be carried out in the future.4、Double dose of15%H2O2is more effective than single dose, it is particularly effective for lampenflora grow on flat or soft substrata, after about a month ampenflora would almost be removed. For uneven substrata, dose of H?O? can be idjusted appropriately. In the short term (one or two weeks), UV lamp can rapidly shrink lampenflora area. However, in the long run (more than one month), its effect is not prominent. In the short term, using15%H2O2is not so effective as UV lamp irradiation, in the long term,15%H2O2seems to be more effective. Besides, its cost is much cheaper, and is easier to operate. To conclude, applying double dose of15%H2O2is the optimal way of lamp flora control in this study.
