Sandstone type uranium deposits is one of the important output of uranium typecurrently, and is also take advantage of the uranium ore types in the total uraniumresources. The world-famous central Asian uranium metallogenic belt is sandstone-typeuranium mineralization belt;As an important nuclear energy, uranium resources hasbecome an important national economic development needs. Firstly, the paper hasoverview for uranium and sandstone-type uranium in the world, and classified the uraniumdeposits base on exogenic geologic process, endogenous geological process, complexgeological process and metamorphic geological process. At the same time, the paper hasoverview for foreign sandstone type uranium deposits from four different times;Theforeign sandstone type uranium deposits has compare with China’s sandstone typeuranium deposits. The analysis indicates that the current uranium resources are still themain sandstone type uranium deposits in which the North Cenozoic basins are the mainprospecting target. The northern giant basin is concluding Songliao basin, Talimu basin,Erlian basin and so on. The author base on predecessors’ category sandstone type uraniumdeposits, according to six kinds of classification standard divided sandstone type uraniumdeposits. While taxonomic research, this paper discusses the northern sandstone typeuranium mineralization model in China, and compare with sandstone-type uraniumdeposits in Central Asia as well as sandstone type uranium mineralization in North America. Compare objects include Kazier Qom mining area in Uzbekistan, Мынкудукmining area in Kazakhstan and Garth Hills in America. The results showed that sandstonetype uranium deposits research and reserves is an important part of our uranium resources.Due to the rapid economic development will inevitably lead to tensions in energysupply, and uranium resources have become the main body of China’s energy consumption.The uranium resources supply is not adequate to the demand. Resource output andconsumption of uranium supply and demand have become increasingly prominent. Thispaper collected uranium resource consumption data in1998-2013, which use Matlabcomputing software platform, to establish three kinds of quantitative models. The modelspredicted uranium consumption in2014and2015. The prediction models are Grey SystemGM (1,1) model, one linear regression model and BP neural network analysis. At the sametime, the paper was given posterior-variance-test, a significant test and error percentagevalues of the three methods. The results are given three error rates of methods based onthe uranium consumption actual values and predicted values in2013. The predictionsindicate that the results of prediction of three quantitative models are basically the same.Prediction errors are in line with testing standards. Eventually, we have chosen thesmallest error method which is BP neural network analysis to predict uranium resourceconsumption in2014and2015. Predictive estimated values were7764tons and8210tons.The calculated resource consumption of uranium is prediction estimate values. It has aguiding role for the balance of supply and demand of uranium resources in the future.
