Magnetic fluids is a kind of function materials with magnetism of magnetic materials and liquidity of liquid, and has special properties, especially special properties in optical.The theoretical and experimental transmission characteristics of magnetic fluids had been researched in this paper.The special optical properties of magnetic fluids are closely related with its microstructure.The microstructure of magnetic fluids had been introduced detailed and simulated, provide the corresponding basis for photonic devices and fiber sensing field.The Monte Carlo method was used to numerical simulation of microstructure and optical transmission characteristics, included thought of simulation and details. The magnetic particle potential energy and balance conditions were discussed detailed. Based on the particle potential energy and balance condictions, the microstructure of the magnetic fluid has been simulated by using the Monte Carlo method, when under magnetic field or no. Based on the microstructure of magnetic fluids and Mie scattering theory, using Monte Carlo simulate the optical transmission characteristcs of the magnetic fluids film and the optical transmittance of the magnetic fluids film.In experimental research, we designed reliable thin films of magnetic fluids and magnetic field generator. The optical transmission characteristics of magnetic fluids had been research in experment, including comprehensive experimental study of light perpendicular and parallel to the magnetic field direction. And a detailed transmission characteristics of magnetic fluids had been discovered,to make up for the blank.The optical transmission characteristics of magnetic fluids had been explored both in theoretical and experimental research.
