In the context of information war and strengthening the army by science and technology, our army modernization degree rise ceaselessly and weapons equipment is rapidly developing. All of these has put forward higher requirements to our equipment measurement and control system. Global Positioning System (GPS) has been applied more and more extensively since introduction measurement and control system as exterior ballistic measurement. Due to the characteristics of equipment and the mission of the actual demand, GPS application environment is very complex, difficult to meet the ideal application of no interference and without sunscreen environment. Because some of the targets can not be recovered, therefore, the measurement information can only be get through the telemetry equipment to return, which results in the GPS information quality not only by its own system, and are subject to carrier but work equipment. Based on measurement and control system as the research background, this paper does a systematic research on the GPS positioning method and its application. The main contents are as follows:(1) The original information recovery and data preprocessing, the main contents include: the original measurement data analysis and completing information recovery; the analysis of satellite data availability and measurement information quality; the original data smoothing, jump point repairing, data interpolation and outlier elimination method; multi station data complementation and data statistical method of random error.(2) Positioning and velocity calculation, the calculation of GPS satellite position andvelocity using broadcast ephemeris, error correction, precise ephemeris encryption processing, pseudo-range directly positioning solution, pseudo-range differential positioning solution, phase smoothing pseudorange differential positioning solution, Doppler speed measurement, etc.(3) Multi station data processing, mainly completing each base station data information collection and statistical analysis, multiple base station data weighted processing.(4) Coordinates and time conversion, mainly completing different coordinate systems and different time systems unity and mutual conversion.(5) Processing results of the precision analysis and evaluation, manly completing the design of error estimate model and processing of the results of the residual statistic and precision evaluation.
