Phoridae is one of the largest group in Diptera, which is rich in species diversity anddistributed worldwide. Many phoird flies are important in agriculture, forestry environmentprotection and public health. This research is a study of Megaselia spiracularis Schmitz, Diplonevra Peregrina(Widemann) and Dohrniphora cornuta (Bigot). It is based on using microsurgical anatomyas well as optical and electron microscopy system. Through observe and describe the outershape of the phorid flies in detail. In addition, feature of mouthparts, antennae, and halterare focusing. Results are as follows:Microstructure and ultrastructure of the labellum are observed and compared on phoridflies. Phorid flies has typical Diptera licking sucking mouthparts features is found. Itincludes different shapes in pseudotracheae, perstomal teeth and sensory hairs. Moreover, they have big differents on numbers and shapes between different classes. There is a clearsexual dimorphism as well. Therefore, females generally have well developed peristomalteeth significantly in reflecting the differences between male and female feeding function. There are numbers of structural features at the end of the expanded terminal which arenot found in the past by dissecting the second quarter of the inner antennal segment.Antennal flagellum and pedicel has plenty of sensors including trichoid sensilla, buttonsensilla, cylindrical sensilla and so on.As a result, the basic morphological characteristics of halter in phorid flies aredescribed by the first observing which compares the differences between different kinds ofhalter, especially in the study of campaniform sensilla in detail. Morphological study onthe morphological characters and numbers are introduced in order to provide a referencefor further research. |
