With the rapid development of the Internet, the demand on communicat-eon is increasing. People pay more attention to the potential of optical solito-n in the long distance, high speed communications. There are a lot of methods to solve nonlinear evolution equations of soliton solutions, such as B a cklu-nd method, Darboux transformation method, Hirota method and the homogeny-eous balance method. In this paper, we work on three nonlinear evolution equations in differe-nt fields, by using the Hirota method and the simplified Hirota method. These three fields are:spatial optical soliton incident on the materials having diff-erent refractive indexes; optical soliton transmission in the optical fiber amplif y-ication cycle and filtering; has described Schro’dinger equation of higher orde-r nonlinear phase iron flux or protein model. The first chapter introduces the background knowledge of three fields, b-asic applications of soliton, the Hirota method, simplified Hirota method, varia-tional method and the Melnikov basis function. The second chapter introduces the analytical researches of Helmholtz spat-ial optical solitons in nonlinear optical materials. The model of optical solito-n incident on the two media is described by the Helmholtz equation. The bili-near equation is obtained by using the Hirota method. The one and two soliton solution are obtained, according to the different parameters. The third chapter introduces the transmission of optical pulse in the ampl-ified and filtered fiber. The model of optical soliton propagation in periodi-c amplified and filtered fiber is introduced. Using the simplified Hirota meth-od, the one soliton solution is obtained. Combined the Poincare section and the pictures of one soliton, we analyze the transmission of optical pulse. The fourth chapter introduces the generalized inhomogeneous higher-orde r nonlinear Schrodinger equation. The bilinear forms, one and two soliton so-lutions are obtained by using the Hirota method. We analyze the two solito-n collision by using the asymptotic analysis. The fifth chapter gives the summary and prospect of this paper. The inn-ovations of this research are listed, and we point out the shortcomings of the-se researches. At last, we introduce the future and significance of these res-earches briefly.
