Foreland overthrust belt is part of the transition between orogenic belts andbasins that cover a large scale orogenic nappe towards the basin formed by the thrustoverthrust system,which is one of the most abundant type of oil and gas area.Longmen Mountain located in the western edge of Sichuan Basin,is animportant tectonic belt in the Southwest China. The landscape and geologic structureon both sides of Longmen Mountain orogenic belt/region varies on a great scale. Itsstructure and causes have always attracted the attention of Chinese and foreigngeologists and have become a hot area of research. Along with the further oil and gasexploration in orogenic belts, the research of structural features, tectoniccharacteristics and tectonic evolution becomes increasingly important. The issue ofcomplex Longmen Mountian orogenic belt structure has become a major obstacle forthe current gasoline exploration mission. To complex structure in this area of oil andgas exploration breakthrough progress, structure research is the foundation. With thecorrect geological knowledge structure, provides the decision-making basis for the oiland gas exploration.Kuangshanliang is located in the northern section of the Longmen Mountainbeam construction foreland thrust belt structures striker, which tectonic framework iscomposed by basement and sedimentary cover. Made with strata combination typesare complex and diverse, with different locations in the structure and depth of thepresence of the respective continental sedimentation, marine sediments andmarine-terrigenous facies, and there is also a number of structural unconformityband, on the other hand does illustrate the above areas have experienced excessivetectonic transformation of times. Therefore, deepen study of the northern section ofLongmen Mountain foothill belt structural deformation and structural evolution hasimportant theoretical and practical value in order that further to find a new favorableexploration zones in the northern Longmen Mountain.From the structural geometry, kinematics and dynamics of start to analyze itsstructural style, deformation of the tectonic evolution of the structure Kuangshanliangcomprehensive analysis of research to further implement the structural development features Kuangshanliang identify the structure for hydrocarbon accumulation controlaction, not only conducive to the deployment and development of oil and gasexploration work in the study area, to reduce exploration risk also has an importantrole in guiding. This paper summarizes the results of previous studies based on thestatus of the Longmen Mountain study according to seismic, drilling, logging databased, structural geology, sedimentology, petroleum geology theory as a guide, theapplication of seismic data interpretation techniques and fine structure hydrocarbonbasin structure analysis technology, combined with the results of seismicinterpretation, an evaluation of the structural evolution and Kuangshanliang favorableoil and gas exploration areas. The main work of this study and understanding obtainedare as follows:1. On the basis of surface geological surveys, the author has finished the analysiswork of seismic interpretation in Kuangshanliang tectonic zone, which includes aboutline01ksl03, line01ksl017and line01ksl014. Moreover, by this analysis work theauthor has successfully realized the feature about structure of sectional surface andflat distribution. All these work can be the bases of such researching, which includesthe founding of geological modal and integrated interpretation work ofseismic-geology.2.By such researching in this part, for instance geological field survey, analyzingof regional tectonic background and analyzing of seismic profiles, what’s more,combining with the distribution discipline of surface and underground in this part,which structure in this part always appears in up-horizontal and up-longitudinal, theauthor deems that Kuangshanliang tectonic zone, which located in the northernsection of the Longmen Mountain is mainly squeezed by Regional compressive stressand in this area, squeezed tectonic style can be discovered very causally.3. In this lecture the author uses the well data and researches in Tianjingshan andFengshunchang, which located near the research area to finish the study ofstratigraphic interpretation. Combining with the research of surface geological survey,analysis of tectonic form and features of seismic reflection, the author contribute amodel which basic on line01ksl017. We call it Model of Structural geology inKuangshanliang.4. By the analysis of tectonic evolution in line05fsc04to line01ksl013, theauthor deems that the formation process of Kuangshanliang tectonic zone can bedivided into four parts:(1) Extension phase in Caledonian-Early Indo stage;(2)Gravity gliding phase in Late Indo stage;(3) Uplift and erosion phase in Yanshan stage; (4) Squeeze and fold phase in Himalayas Stage.5. Furthermore, by the research of traps in the study area, which includes theresearch of traps’ structural positions, traps’ reliability, traps’ Buried depth, traps’Closed magnitude, traps’ Area and storage conditions, the author divides the favorableareas into three parts in this area, which includes favorable area Ⅰ,favorable areaⅡand favorable areaⅢ.In Kuangshanliang tectonic zone, all of the favorable areas arelocated in Tectonic units of abdominal thrust. In this area favorable area Ⅰincludesthree traps with a total area of66.77km2, favorable area Ⅱincludes ten traps with atotal area of36.19km2, favorable area Ⅲ includes four traps with a total area of7.18km2.
