Rice is the major food crop in the world. The disease is a major constraint in rice production. To study the defense response mechanisms of rice is important. It has theoretical and practical significance for the prevention of rice diseases. As we all know WRKY proteins are a large family of transcription factors that mainly participate biotic stress responses in plants. In this study, we constructed two, inducible and constitutive, RNA interference vectors for WRKYi2 in rice. This will be helpful to study whether OsWRKYi2 takes part in the disease resistance. Glutaredoxins (GRXs) are a kind of oxidoreductases that mediate reduction of disulphide bonds for cysteine residues of target proteins. It has been predicted and divided into three major classes in plants, namely CPYC-type, CGFS-type, and CC-type. Among these, the CC-type has so far been identified only in land plants. CC-type GRXs were shown to exert crucial functions both in floral development and in abiotic and biotic stresses responses. In this study, we constructed two RNA interference (RNAi) vectors for CC-type GRX-OsGRX6 in rice, targeted its 5’and 3’end sequences respectively. And it will be useful to elucidation of the biological functions for OsGRX6 in rice.
