Neutron generator has many advantages, including high neutron energy, use of safety, good monochromaticity and controllability. It has been widely used in enormous aspects, such as the oil well logging, coal quality analysis, explosives and drug testing. As electric equipment, its operation performance, the quantum yield, yield stability and service life are directly affected by the neutron generator console. On account of the drive-in target structure of the neutron tube of independent intellectual property rights of northeast normal university, in order to enhance the yield of neutron generator running performance and stability, this paper designs a new neutron generator console based on DSP micro controller. The new neutron generator console mainly includes hardware design and software design.The new neutron generator console is composed of main control circuit, touch screen, DA output module, AD collection module, and linear light coupling isolation module, storage power, ion source power and high voltage power source. Neutron generator console actually is to control the storage power, ion source power and high voltage source to satisfy neutron tube neutron production conditions. According to parameters and performance requirements of the three specific power supply circuit, the corresponding power supply circuits are designed. TMS320F2812 as the core of main control circuit adjusts operation of the three power supplies through DA output module and linear light coupling isolation module, and it controls AD collection module to sample. Meanwhile, it accepts the regulation of upper computer and touch screen instructions and the AD samples values are uploaded to upper computer and touch screen via a serial port. DA output module and AD collection module both adopt light coupling module to realize the electrical isolation of weak current part and high voltage part and guarantee the stability of the system performance. The upper computer monitoring software(touch screen software) is designed as well as the lower processor software(DSP software). As human-computer interaction, the upper computer monitoring software controls the output of the three power supplies and shows electric parameters of the three power supplies. As the core of the whole system control software, DSP software operates each power supply and sampling, and can realize automatic control combined with the closed-loop control algorithm and manual control. In automatic control mode, according to the difference between each power supply output value and the target value, the main control circuit implements control procedures to realize neutron tube three-way power automatic adjustment and produce control signals of the three-way power output until it reaches the target.The new neutron generator console raises the adjustment precision and speed of neutron generator and reduces the console internal connection and the failure rate of the console. Moreover, the system increases the multi-channel AD sampling and touch screen. Touch screen can real-time display various power supply parameter values and can replace the computer PC directly to regulate the console. In the end, the stability of the neutron generator has been improved significantly and the stability of the quantum yield of neutron is not greater than 2%. At the same time, the new neutron generator console also is benefited to long life of the neutron generator.
