Recently, airborne geophysical prospecting work has been strengthened rapidly driven by mining and oil market demand at home and abroad. The amount of airborne geophysical prospecting data increased greatly along with the expansion of airborne geophysical prospecting work. How to manage and use the data efficiently and make it better service to the development and utilization of mineral resources has become a hot research topic. In recent years, Web GIS technology(combination of GIS technology and Internet technology) provides a new method and technology for data sharing and service. And it has become the main way to provide rapid and stable data service.The goal of this article is to design and implement airborne geophysical information service system based on the characteristics of airborne geophysical database. During application, we found that the designed system involves the operation of the mass data and would lead to some problems such as slow response speed and the poor ability of human-computer interaction. To handle this issue, we utilized the Tile pyramid technology and vector optimization technology to make the map announcement(basic geographic data and airborne geophysical vector data). Furthermore, the basic service extension and the corresponding client programs have been also developed based on Arc GIS Server. The client-side has been integrated into the platform of Geo Probe in the form of a plug-in. All of the work mentioned above made the integration of airborne geophysical data processing, management and service. This will improve the work efficiency of geophysical staff greatly.Summarize our work as follows:(1) Analyze and research of the characteristics of the airborne geophysical database;(2) The tile pyramid technology has been put forwarded based on the characteristics of basic geographic data. Meanwhile, the corresponding system function module has been developed and comparisons between the proposed method and traditional method has been conducted;(3) We put forwarded map configuration and data extraction technology to perform data optimization before they are announced;(4) Airborne geophysical data service has been designed and developed based on Web GIS Services. And the basic browsing query function of the information service system has been achieved. Furthermore, the client application plug-in has been developed based on the platform of Geo Probe.
