It is important to understand and reconstruct the evolution of geological structures for lunar structures, and the linear structures are the very important tectonic phenomena. They mainly distributes the lunar mare region, but very few is in the lunar terri region. Their distribution are closely related to the internal geological actions of the moon. Extremely limited samples and difficult field investigation decide that remote sensing becomes the main mean of planetary science study. China, America, Japan, India and other countries obtain a large number of high quality datas from multiple new lunar exploration satellites launched to provide a great help for us to study the lunar surface structures.Making Mare Tranquillitatis of the moon as an example, the study tries to apply the principle of terrain curvature of linear feature extraction and linear structure in the earth to the ones’ extraction of Mare Tranquillitatis of the moon and achieved good results, using the datas that we have including 120 m Chang’e-1 CCD image data, 500 m resolution Chang’e-1 laser altimeter data, 100 m resolution LRO-WAC wide-angle camera data and 60 m resolution LRO-LOLA laser range finder predecessors data. At the same time, according to the lunar surface linear structure the study establishes remote sensing interpreting marks, classifies statistics to the extraction results, and then analyzes their origins and evolution processes, evolution models. The mainly linear structures influenting the form of Mare Tranquillitatis include ridge, rille, graben and collapse structure. The result shows: the ridges and rilles mostly distribute in a lower elevation area of the west; the formation time of the rilles in Mare Tranquillitatis is nearly the same as ones of the basin and the basalt, and the formation time of the ridges is almost equated with one of the craters; the formation model of the ridges that one end extends to a crater in Mare Tranquillitatis is dike one of volcanic processes; Graben is the results of overstretching easy broken and elastic strata above non elastic underlying one, and it occurred two fractures at the same time or the different times in its process of formation; when a meteorite impact the lunar surface to form a crater, collapse structure is the linear structure formed on the inner wall of the crater, it generally appears in the large complex crater in abundance. This research will help to understand the state of stress of the tectonic activity in certain period in Mare Tranquillitatis, and then deepen their understanding of the moon’s surface evolution.
