Iron ore resources is the important foundation of the guarantee of national economy and national defense construction, the shortage of iron ore resources has severely restricts the development of iron and steel enterprises and industry in our country. Henan province is one of the provinces that lack of iron ore resources, but as the economic development of henan province with each passing day, even highlights the lack of iron ore resources. Wu Gang iron ore field is the most important iron ore resources in our province, but superficial iron ore resources have been exhausted, deep prospecting will be the development direction of the future.Based on the present situation of the iron ore exploration in our province and urgent problems in Wu Gang iron ore field, proceed thorough research in the most important deposits of Wu Gang iron ore field by using the geophysical prospecting method combined with geologic rule, summarizes the feasibility of various geophysical prospecting method in Wu Gang iron ore field, and its effectiveness was evaluated either, optimizing the geophysical prospecting method combination of the depth prospecting in Wu Gang iron ore field, provides technical support for the next step package exploration.The main knowledge and achievements are as follows:1. Based on previous regional gravity and aeromagnetic work in WuGang area, summarizes aeromagnetic and gravity anomaly characteristics in Wu Gang regional.2. A lot of physical specimens tested has been taken out for Several important deposits of Wu Gang iron ore field, Summarized the density, electrical, magnetic characteristics of iron ore and surrounding rock in Wu Gang iron ore field, laid a solid foundation for further prospecting in this area.3. in WuGang region under the guidance of Aeromagnetic anomalies characteristics and characteristics of gravity anomalies and the characteristics of physical parameters, proceed geophysical prospecting method and synthetic prospecting evaluation for several important iron ore deposit in Wu Gang iron ore field by using high precision magnetic method, high accuracy gravity and controlled source audio-frequency magnetotelluric sounding method and transient electromagnetic sounding, through the integrated geophysical method combination test we selected the Wu Gang iron ore exploration effective combination method, namely high precision magnetic method gravity exploration and controlled source audio-frequency magnetotelluric method.
