With the deepening of the process of information technology, GIS is widely used, GIS data processing work has become diversified and complicated, how to use the method of processing high quality and high efficiency to solve the various problems encountered in the actual production has become a technical problem of mapping and geographic information industry can not be avoided.FME(Feature Manipulate Engineering) is a Canadian Software company launched Safe spatial data conversion processing system, which is based on the Open GIS of the new concept of "semantic conversion, data conversion, to achieve the conversion of more than 200 kinds of spatial and non spatial data format. FME for data conversion based on GIS, realize the processing of data by transformer library feature rich. Users in a visual workspace, in accordance with the actual needs of the transformer "assembly", in order to achieve the specific processing of GIS data.This paper introduces several kinds of GIS data platform is widely used at home and abroad, the data format, application range and features are described, and the coordinate system, data structure, data structure, data topological relationship four aspects to carry on the contrast. Secondly, the traditional data processing methods have many shortcomings, and all kinds of GIS data platform is the self oriented, has certain limitations in the data processing function, so the introduction of data conversion function based on FME platform. Then based on the FME platform, based on geographic information database construction as the main line, combined with the various problems encountered during the implementation of the project, to explore the implementation scheme of FME in GIS data preprocessing, attributes, topology processing, quality inspection, mapping applications, the function and the parameter setting method of all kinds of transformers are involved this. Through the example of FME in GIS data processing, so as to further illustrate the importance of the FME platform in GIS data processing, and provides empirical support all kinds of transformers in this paper and the workflow settings for the design of data processing program of GIS, hope that the use of FME in this field more widely and more deeply.
