Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit in Wenquan, Xinjiang, is an important discovery, which was recently discovered in Western Tianshan. It is located in northern Sailimu micro-plate,seated in northern margin of Kazakhstan-Ili plate in regional structure. The Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit is similar to Tekeli giant Pb-Zn deposit, southeastern Kazakhstan. In this article we study the characteristics of geology, isotope geochemistry. Main conclusions as following:① Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit formed in a continental margin environment and related to passive continental margin extension. The ore bodies occur as stratified or stratoid beds, and is in conformable contact with the lower Proterozoic Wenquan formation. Ore with a massive, layered, disseminated structure. There is no lead-zinc mine in intrusive rock and its nearby.② Geological and geochemical characteristics of Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit indicated that the silicalite is a hydrothermal sedimentation. The marble is formed by the metamorphism of carbonate rocks.③ We can make a conclusion by our study that the Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit is proved to be SEDEX type.④ The Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit is similar to Tekeli giant Pb-Zn deposit, southeastern Kazakhstan. There are huge prospecting potential in this area. The Tekeli Zn-Pb metallogenic belt is proved to extend to the Sailimu lake. The discovery of Tuokesai Zn-Pb deposit further confirmed that the Proterozoic is a period of Zn-Pb mineralization and the extension of Tekeli Zn-Pb metallogenic belt. It has indicative significance for the exploration of SEDEX type Zn-Pb deposit and the study of metallogenic regularity.
